PetPaper

Terms of Service

Last updated 5 September 2026. These terms take effect when PetPaper is released on Google Play.

The short version. You send us one photo of your cat or dog. We build a set of movements from it and it becomes your Android wallpaper. Building a pet is a one-time purchase, and once we start building it we cannot refund it. Keeping the wallpaper running is a subscription. Everything is paid through Google Play, and you can cancel there at any time. If your subscription ends, the wallpaper stops and we delete your photo and your pet 120 days later.

1. Who these terms are with

PetPaper is an Android live wallpaper made and operated in the Republic of Korea. In these terms, we and us mean PetPaper, and you mean the person using the app. Write to hello@petpaper.app about anything here. We answer in English or Korean.

The company behind PetPaper is being registered. Its legal name, registered address and business registration number will be published on this page before PetPaper is released on Google Play.

By installing PetPaper and setting it as your wallpaper, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What PetPaper does

You send one clear, front-facing photo of your own cat or dog. We generate a set of short movements from that photo — looking in eight directions, resting, yawning, and reacting when you stroke the screen — and deliver them back to the app as your live wallpaper.

Every pet is generated, so no two turn out exactly alike, and we cannot promise a specific expression, pose, or likeness. If the result is not recognisably your pet, write to us before you buy again.

3. The photo you send

You are responsible for the photo you upload. By sending it you confirm that:

You keep every right you already had in your photo. We do not claim ownership of it, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models. We use it only to build your pet, and we delete it on the schedule described in our Privacy Policy.

We may refuse or stop a job if the photo breaks the rules above, if the app cannot tell what animal is in it, or if processing it would put us in breach of the law or of the rules of the services we use.

4. The pet we build

The pet we build from your photo is yours to use on your own devices, for personal, non-commercial use, for as long as your subscription is active. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or pass it to someone else as a wallpaper they can install.

5. What you pay

Free trialThree days with our sample pets. No charge up front. You are not charged if you cancel within the trial.
SubscriptionUS$1.99 per month. This keeps your wallpaper running.
Make your own petUS$8.99, one time, per pet. This pays for building a motion set from your photo.

Prices are set in US dollars. Google Play shows you the price in your own currency, including any tax that applies where you live, before you confirm. That price is the one that is charged.

All payments go through Google Play. We never see or hold your card details. Your subscription renews each month through Google Play until you cancel it there. Prices may change; if they do, Google Play notifies you before a renewal at the new price and you can cancel first.

6. Cancelling, and what happens next

Cancel any time in the Google Play app, under Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your wallpaper keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for.

When the subscription ends:

Coming back. Subscribing again does not by itself bring your pet back. A pet is tied to the one-time purchase that created it, so returning to it is a new purchase at US$8.99.

7. Refunds

Once we start building your pet, that purchase cannot be refunded by us. Building a pet is not something we can switch off again: we generate a whole new set of clips from your photo, and we pay for that work the moment it starts, whatever happens afterwards. That is why the app shows you a front view made from your photo, and asks you to approve it, before you are charged. Up to that point nothing has cost you anything and you can walk away or try another photo.

The subscription is different. You can cancel it at any time in Google Play. It stops the next renewal, and your wallpaper keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. See section 6.

Purchases are made through Google Play, so refunds are requested through Google Play and are handled under Google's refund process, which is Google's and not ours. You can find it in the Google Play app under your order history, or at Google's refund page.

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in. If you are in the Republic of Korea or the European Union, your statutory right to withdraw from a purchase applies as the law provides, whatever this page says.

8. Things you agree not to do

If you do any of these, we may suspend or end your access. Where the problem can be fixed, we will tell you what is wrong first.

9. Changes to the app and the service

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may stop offering PetPaper altogether. If we stop, we will announce it on this website and give you reasonable notice so that you can cancel and, if you want, ask us to delete your photo and pet.

We may also change these terms. When we do, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects what you have already paid for, we will say so on this website rather than change it quietly.

10. What we do not promise

PetPaper is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it running, but we do not promise that the service will always be available, that a generated pet will meet a particular expectation, or that the app will behave identically on every Android phone. Android phone makers change how wallpapers behave, and some of that is outside our control.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and the courts of the Republic of Korea have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may also bring a claim in your local courts where that law allows.
